Sony Alpha 100 Software

Since purchasing my Sony Alpha 100 camera I have been unable to load the application software onto my computer which uses Windows ME. All I get is a desktop icon for product registration. Repeated emails to Sony UK asking for help go unanswered.

I am particularly concerned because the Sony website identifies problems both in this software and in the camera itself, both of which need download capability - denied to me - in order to correct them.

Can anyone help?

Re: Sony Alpha 100 Software

Hi Dave
I'm a very happy Sony A100 user - that is after the firmware upgrade to 1.02 on the camera. As for the Sony software, I don't use it - I use the Faststone software - FastStone Image Viewer - Powerful and Intuitive Photo Viewer, Editor and Batch Converter - which does it all - including viewing SONY ARW RAW files, and it's got a great browser. The only plus of the Sony software is that you can sort files - by focal length. You're not losing out too much I can assure you. I'm not too sure about the firmware - the changes are negligible, and your dealer should be able to do it for you. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your Sony as much as I do.
Regards
Russell
