speedlights
Just a question about speedlights. But what is the difference for example between the sb400 sb600 and sb800. Is it just a new model all the time. Or are they better.
Just wondering what i would need to go for with my d80. |

Re: speedlights
Well, a short version is:
Level of features and adaptability goes: #1. SB800 (best) #2 SB600 #3 SB400 But don't let that put you off. Read some of the reviews in the review section (funnily enough), to get a better idea...but the general consensus is that the SB600 is the 'middle way' between pro and beginner, so I'd go for that (except I wouldn't; I have the SB800, but you know what I mean )

Re: speedlights
If this helps , The SB800 will control multiple SB 600's for more creative flash. You would have the SB 800 mounted on the camera for front on or bounce flash off the ceiling and a remote SB600 anywhere else you may wish to give depth to the lighting.
The SB 600 & 400 do not have this remote control facility. Although I am a Canon user the same thing applies to their flash units with only their most expensive having the remote control function. Regards Brian. |

Re: speedlights
Well then i think a sb600 would do me just fine as I'm not a prof. I would only use it to create more light when it's to dark.

Re: speedlights
Yeah, it can also be used (with the right colour to bounce it off, like an oak wardrobe
), to create the 'golden hour' style lighting and the like, and for fill flash outside, as well as like a conventional flash indoors!
