Does anyone know IF and where you can get a split circle focus screen for a Canon 40D.

It sounds like a mad idea but I always liked the one in my old FED4L which I still own.

I want a better was of manual focusing with my new Kenko Teleconvertor and 100-400.

Although there's a dodge to get the teleconvertor to work on autofocus it's a bit hit and miss

AF will work more effectively if you use any AF point other than the central one (which is "enhanced" and struggles @ f/8)

I'm pretty sure they are still available, but I think they were phased out as they were not very good transmitting light with lenses slower than around f2.8.
