Standalone canon 350d Timelapse?

I was wondering if there was a modified firmware or perhaps a way to have the ability to capture pictures in time intervals while the camera is not attached to any computer or anything, have it put the photos straight on the cameras compact flash.

Any help would be amazing. Thanks to all.

Seen how someone made a timelapse system (connects to remote port), otherwise Harbortronics - Home of the DigiSnap 2000

I made my own in the end but never documented it in detail. It was a 555 and an transistor based on a cut and shut of a coulpe of circuits I found on line. I used a 9v battery. It was not adjustable but you can change the speed in the post proccessing.
