still not fixed

well after a couple hundred shots, the problem i was having here http://www.pixalo.com/community/came...ain-35794.html

has come back to haunt me.. supposed it was the light levels shooting in fog that has made it apparent that it hasnt been fixed. so its obviously not a hair on the sensor then!........ i do tno have words to express how absoutely furious i am right now............
so its back to the shop yet again next week and if they dont fix it this time im going to the trading standards!

Sheesh Fi

Take it back and demand they change the shutterbox again, and clean and service it correctly.

If they refuse do as said take a trip to trading standards and write to Canon themselves.

It's gone too far.

And there was me pee's off because my new 5d2 does not like Dane CF cards loads of corrupt pictures arrrggghhhhhh.

Put your complaint in writing, stating what is still wrong, what you expect them to fix & in what timescale. I would then also state if the problem is not rectified, you shall take the camera elsewhere for repair & will be sending them the bill.

this is having to go on the back burner.......... alan was given a weeks notice today, they are shuitting half the nursing home and everyone working in that part of it has bene given a weeks notice! great end to a fab weekend...NOT

Really sorry to hear the Fi

Why do they do these things just before Xmas. I was told last week that I've been sold off for the 6th time in 6 years which is very worrying.

I hope your Hubby gets sorted with something quickly.

Don't leave the camera too long you should be getting it sorted free this time

havent a clue why they do it Chris. his first job after graduation and there was me thinking it had all been worth it........... wont leave it too long but its still money having to go all the way into Edinburgh, then all the way back again to pick it up.

I am sorry to read about Alan. I hope something turns up very quickly for him and that you can have a good Christmas.

Postage costs very little, so what I would do is write out a full complaint stating what they have done and the fault, plus on their instruction you had them clean it at extra personal cost. Despite all this the fault that was not on the camera when it was first taken to them for work is still there and you feel that not only should they rectify the situation and return to you a fully working camera for no extra cost, but they should also reimburse the full cleaning costs. Failure to complete all of the above within X number of days (allow them a fair amount of time) will result in you taking further action.

Send the letter registered, and ask them to reply in writing. As it will all be on record, you will then be covered in case it takes you a short while to return the camera

Fiona, I can totally imagine that this is a blow for Alan and you. But he is a nurse and there should be plenty of jobs out there for him. So I keep my fingers crossed that he will find a job very soon. How **** is that though to get a weeks notice hey

Obviously,of the two,your better half [] having being paid off is the biggest bummer and i sincerely hope he isn't out of work too long.On the camera front,I dont know.Why is it we consumers/cusomers have to put up with so much ***king crap service from everyone from government to bus companies and all shades in between?.It seems things are weighted in favour of business in this country.I have had problems ranging from Post Office[my ex ISP,a total nightmare] to being told I was a 'plonker' by a bus driver for complaining that either he was 20minutes late or a scheduled bus had not appeared !.My one and only happy outcome was with Hewlitt Packard,a US company,who immediately sent me replacement cordless mouse and keyboard for my new computer when Comet were dragging their heels about it.From reading posts on other forums from our American cousins I believe they are much better served in this regard than we are in Britain.None of which helps you Fiona so I can only hope you eventually get a successful and free outcome,but if I am honest........
It is an Edinburgh shop ?.Mention you know quite a few people in various Lothian camera clubs who are 'interested' to hear how you get on.May not help but cant do any harm either?.

right well with everything that has happened over the last week i didint have time to take camera back, so I took Steves advice and sent them a recorded letter.........
I checked email today when i got home from hospital and there was a reply, saying that they are sorry to hear of the problems,. they want the camera back to sort it out once and for all and they will reimburse me for the cleaning, they have said they may need camera for a few days which is fine so. so far so good...we are taking it in on monday.!

Stand up and be counted! phone them now and tell them you cant keep going back to the shop because of the expense, tell them that you need a working camera now, put something down in writing too and record every action you do!....... what a pain........

ok news on camera, seems like it was something to do with the original new shutter that they had fitted, they got it from canon and it was faulty, something to do with the second blind that could only be spotted once it had been removed and checked... im imagining the 2nd curtain? anyway refunding ccd clean, and have replaced new shutter again. going to pick it up tomorrow! time will tell

That all sounds feasible, I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything is now 100% with the camera when you pick it up. Hey you are due some good luck so I would look forward to having a fully working camera back in your hands tomorrow
