Sub £100 Tripod
Dear all,
Due to working my nads off over the last few weeks I've managed to "lose" £100.00 of my overtime pay and looking to buy as decent a tripod as possible within that budget. Any recommendations please? Many thanks, Ian |

Are you likely to be carrying it for a long time and/or distance? If so, you might want to think about a slight stretching of your budget to a carbon fibre one.
There are good tripods to be had under £100, but they will be heavier than the CF ones. Slik, and Velbon are good contenders, but Bristol Cameras do the Velbon CF 535 for £115. |

A friend has just brought a Manfrotto 190XPROB which looked a very good tripod, it can be picked up for around £85, without a head though!!! so if you have a head you can attach might be an option.
You can pick a decent head up for around £40!! |

Got to agree that the Manfrotto's are good, but also that they would be well over the budget with a head. The Velbon from Bristol Cameras includes a head.

As weight would not be too much of a problem, consider a 2nd hand Benbo.
It's the finest tripod I know of for versatility and stability. I bought mine for £40...Kenny |

Manfrotto's are good for stability, I have one. May be worth seeing if you can either get a head and pod deal or a second hand one.
