Tamron 17-50 vs Canon 17-85
I've read the Tamron is sharper, lighter, AND its about 50 dollars cheaper. Those 3 things make it seem like an obvious better choice. Is it? I want it as a walk-around lens accompanied by the Canon 100mm macro. I'd appreciate any and all feedback thank you!

Re: Tamron 17-50 vs Canon 17-85
The Tamron is constant 2.8 which is good but......the Canon has USM and IS which is good for 2-3 stops plus Canon's build quality will be superior. having said that the Tamron will be a good lens.
