Tamron AF 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II IF Version (Nikon Fit)

All,

Been looking for a general “walkabout” lens and thinking of the Tamron AF 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II IF Version (Nikon Fit) at about £289.00. Considered the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 ED-IF AF-S VR DX but the hefty price tag puts me off a bit. Anyone own the Tamron and can give me a thumbs up or down?

Thanks,

From what I've read I can give you a kind of almost up thumb. The IQ with such a massive zoom range (and with the 18-200, see other thread), will not be great, but I think the Tamron seems to manage it quite well

Hi thanks for that. What's the IQ refer to?

Actually, as I've mentioned in another thread recently, the IQ is pretty good. Here are a couple of samples from last month's holiday collection...
