tamron sp180

Anyone use the tammy sp180, I currently use the sp90 but want some extra working distance, I know about converters and stuff, but I ideally want a longer lens.
I just don't want to be disappointed as the sp90 IQ is amazing, and I would rather hear from someone here that has one and used on a regular basis to let me know if I would be right in making the transition to the bigger lens.
It will be used for macro photography 95% of the time.

thankyou for your help in advance

Re: tamron sp180

I've borrowed one, it takes fantastic images and is a superb lens but focusing is much much harder and the extra weight is a real factor, You can use it hand held but it's not easy

Re: tamron sp180

I'll see what i can find

This one was definitely with that lens, handheld

Emperor | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

and this one

Emerald damselfly | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

didn't have it long as we were on a field trip and I ran out of card space shortly after i borrowed it

The lens is better than I am by the way so don't just go on my photos

Hope that helps.
