UpStrap

I somehow ended up with more bodies than I had straps for. I have tried a few straps in my time and it was always close between the Lowepro and the Op-Tech but Op-Tech WERE my choice. In looking around before pulling the trigger I found the Upstrap. It's very much a new kid on the block and emphasis on the kid compared to the big guys. The big selling point is the build quality and how effective the non slip is.

I had to order it from the US as it would not appear to be available in the UK. I have now got 3 more it's that good. It's simple enough but very well made the buckles are metal and the strap is woven with Kevlar! All this is over engineering really but the big benefit for me is that the non slip strap really works. I must have very sloping shoulders because the lowepro and Op-tech both slipped off with some regularity. I have given these the shiny "gore-tex" test and they just refuse to slip. They also have quick release buckles. Also available interchangeable handles wrist/tripod strap and various connection options.

As well as the camera connectors I have 2 straps for Nikon long lenses. This means I can swap around to sling the 300 or even 600 with body attached and it takes this in it's stride. The other plus is it's a very stealthy strap, all black including the pad. This means if, like me, you occasionally use the jacket over the camera approach at first glance it looks more like a bag than a camera.

Downsides, well I prefer the Op-Tech clips because they can turn into a handle. There is no stretch factor and it's fiddly to fit the straps because they are quite stiff and the metal buckles grip well. But you usually only have to do that once.

In conclusion they do what they say on the tin. If you Google you will find that I am not the only one who thinks this and I can see these being very popular.

Nope I had to order them from there. Postage was not too steep and they did arrive quickly.

Re: UpStrap

You have to order the helium balloons separately.

Seriously - looks good - At the moment I use the Op-Tech straps and try not to slouch.

Re: UpStrap

They look interesting. Must say haven't had the slippy problem with my (Lowepro) Voyager C Only thing about those upstraps is they don't look all that comfortable
