Question Using my EOS flash cord w/ Panaso. sys

I have a panasonic DMC fz-50 w/ a FL360 flash. Does anyone know if there is any problem using my EOS flash cord to link my panasonic system? It sure does seem to me that it's nothing more than a straight extention cord (point for point, wire for wire), but I always see these sales for flash cords as if they are only made for that specific system (ie. flash cord for Nikon system or flash cord for Canon system) let me know if you know. thanks
