Correctamundo! It's a leader retriever for when you lost the film leader inside the 35mm canister. There was a definite knack to using the thing but it did work ... eventually.

No, but it works with SD cards dropped into the CF slot ! LOL

I always use to feel like a prize safecracker using one of those. The Ilford version was far better as you didn't need to listen for the click as the film caught but you didn't get the great sense of triumph whenever you got a bite. 8)
