Is, Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 EX DG any good for that?

Thanks.

Re: What is the Best lense for .....???

Hi Jaro & welcome to Pixalo.

From your PM you stated you are waiting for your Nikon 18-200mm lens. If you are just wanting to shoot portrait work until your lens arrives, then the most incredible lens in terms of image quality is the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 . Look here for test against the 18-200 to see just how good it is :- Budget prime vs Premium Zoom vs Pro Zoom lens

The reason I also advise this lens as stop gap, is its a lens you would want to keep anyway. Because it opens up to f/1.8 you can often shoot portraits indoors via window light with no flash required. If you look at my gallery you should find a few shots of my young daughter....all taken with this lens with no flash.

Hope that helps

Re: What is the Best lense for .....???

Thank you very much Dave. Think I'll go for Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8 D. All I could see on the web is, around 90% review are very positive. Hope pixmania won't dissapoint me with deliery-again. It's hard to wit for that legendary NIKON AF-S DX VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens. Or maybe will find better alternative.

P.S.
Tomorrow I'll start uploading my photos.

Thank you for your help. I'm glad I found this website!!!

No problem. It took 4 months for me to get the Nikon 18-200 back 6 months ago. In meantime I had got some other lenses, so sold it on again. Very nice lens though

You bought from Pixmania? Interesting choice! I have looked at them for every lens I have ever bought and they have always been ludicrous prices. Just checked your Nikon Af50mm f1.8D on there and it is £103 plus postage. On OneStop Digital the exact same lens is just £69.99 including postage!

I bought my Canon 50mm f1.8 from Onestop and it was a fantastic deal. It arrived in 5 days from Hong Kong. They guarantee you won't get stung for extra duty.... they refund it in full if you do. Many of us on here have used OneStop several times over and it has saved us a small fortune.

Worth remembering for the future. Just as a matter of interest, has ANYONE on here ever bought something from pixmania and been happy with the price and the service? So far I have not met anyone who has been happy on both counts.

Cheers,
Rob

Before I've bought 2 external hard drives (one earlier this year, another just recently) they arrived in good condition and on time (in 3 days). Prices as compare to the shops in town were lower on pixmania. So, I had no bad experience with pixmania up until my las order. Nikor 18-200 was anounced to be in stock 08/12/06 and I've paid for it , but then it was reanounced that this item is going to be in stock on 15/12/06 and couple days ago they altered it up until 15/01/07. I'm sure that guys at pixmania have no idea when Nikor will arrive. And you right OneStop really mutch cheaper.
Thank you.
