What did everyone get for ChrismaHannuKwanzaa?
i got a nikkor 18-70 to replace the cheapo- 18-55II on my d40. I absolutly love it, the AF speed is at least 5 times faster than the 18-55, and i am loving the faster aperture!
but i just wanted to hear what everyone else recieved from the Yuletide season |

Re: What did everyone get for ChrismaHannuKwanzaa?
LOL, nice try Summer
![]() My only photographic kit was the Gorillapod SLR Zoom which is a superb addition to my kitbag. I am amazed how versatile it is. My main gift for Christmas was a Tom Tom 520T Sat Nav which is fantastic. I had a sat nav before but it was just my PDA running the Tom Tom 5 software and an external GPS receiver that connected by bluetooth. This one has everything you can think of in it and picks up satellite signals amazingly fast. From cold, my PDA took about a minute or more to get a clear fix. The new one connects in about ten seconds and even does that when I am indoors! You can walk around with this one quite happily and see exactly where you are which is very handy when I do tours of London and other places with my students. My main birthday prezzie (new years eve baby!) is something I am looking forward to big time: a guided tour of Anfield (Been a commited Reds fan since my first live match aged three!) complete with a 3 course meal in an Executive Box, a player from Liverpool's glorious past joining us for the meal, a tour around the museum including a photo holding the European Cup which of course is now owned by Liverpool FC (we own it permanently after winning it 5 times) plus a limited edition gift to bring home. Now I know that would bore the pants off some of you but for me that is a day to remember ![]() I will of course take photos on the day and bore you all rigid with them <g> Cheers and happy new year everyone. Rob

I got a CF card!
(But also a 1.4x Extender)Pair of lined Craghoppers trousers (arguably a photo accessory - especially in winter!) Series 1 of 'Heroes' (one of the only good things on TV recently) - now all I need is the time to watch it all!

Re: What did everyone get for ChrismaHannuKwanzaa?
I did not get anythig at all
![]() I made it clear well before Christmas that I did not want anything bought for me,and for once {I am happy to say} the whole family respected my wishes. While {IMO} it is nice to give {which I did} and receive gifts over the years we have been married there was nothing that I either wanted or could not live without and I believe that {in my case} getting something bought for me just because it is expected for Christmas that will end up unused in a cupboard or drawer is a total waste of money Regards Sparhawk
