What else do I need? Pentax lenses.
It's been a while since I posted here but I do have a dilemma: how to find the "missing link" for those lenses:
1. Sigma 10-20mm 2. Pentax DA*16-50 SDM 3. Pentax FA 50mm f1.4 4. Pentax DA 18-250mm zoom I am considering changing (selling) my 18-250mm and switch to either: Pentax DA*60-250 or right into a fixed DA*300mm (when available); problem is, I still would have a gap to fill if I ever go with the fixed 300mm. I do lots of landscape and other outdoors photography (which the DA*16-50 acomplishes marvellously) but I would also like to be able to get into wildlife photo, which requires very good glass, and a long focal. Is anyone aware whether this upcoming DA*60-250 would fit the criteria and if there are any recent tests on this particular lens? Any suggestions? |

Re: What else do I need? Pentax lenses.
Hi,
I have a Sigma 24-70, f 2.8 and also the Sigma 70-200 f 2.8. This fills the whole range for me. Thanks, Kris |

For wildlife 250 mm is not that much, depending on what you actually want to photograph. You already have that focal length. I would be looking for something longer say 400 or 500 mm

So, not really a good idea to get a 300mm and then, add a teleconverter (of good quality), say at around 1.4X to 1.7X? Would that be the equivalent (money-wise) to a 400 or 500mm lens of good quality? ![]() I'd better go and check prices and then get back here to see m ore comments, which are always very much appreciated! Thanks to all and Cheers! |
