What's your least used lens & why ?

You've got that lovely set of lenses, but for some reason there's always that one that sits at the bottom of the camera bag , hardly used

Which lens does this describe for you & why ? Should you sell it on

?

Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro...because, at the moment I only use it for macro and I haven't done that much recently. But....I have got it when I need it and no I won't be selling it.

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 , purely because I never seem to be shooting something that need that range

WIll I sell it ....not sure at the mo

Well for someone who is considering going prime only I would have to say the Canon nifty fifty.

I don't have a least used lens as I carefully chose all my lenses to fill my shooting range from 17mm through to 300mm. There is little overlap in my lenses and I have absolutely no issues at all switching lenses (even for just one shot) so all get used frequently.

I guess if I became more specialised in the future it could change but I probably would not sell any of my lenses even if they where not being used much.

well there is a difference between "Least used" & redundant

Although I use all of mine from time to time the 35-80 probably gets least use.

Least used is my Nikon 12-24DX, since it's an f/4 constant lens and best suited to landscape work... something I rarely do outside of holidays or specific journeys.

I'd never sell the lens on though since, when combined with Nikon's thin circular polarizer (v2), it renders absolutely gorgeous results. It's the lens I wish I had owned prior to my trip to the Grand Canyon last year.

So: although it only comes out of the bag once in a blue moon, I'm not parting with it

Edit: nearly forgot - when it came time to sell our last house, I took all my own shots (interior and exterior) using my D2X and this lens for the estate agent... far outclassing what they would have acheived with their little point-and-click cams. The house sold within a week
