Re: What wide angle lens

I have a sigma 10-20mm but iIwouldn't say it would be a great lens for portraits, maybe at 20mm but definitely not near the 10mm end. However, it could produce some nice shots for weddings of the church/grounds etc

Re: What wide angle lens

I've got the Sigma 10-20 and I love it.

Muscle 750 did some comparison shots between the Sigma and the Nikkor 14-24 f2.8 here - not a 12-24, but still close.

However - remember there will be quite a lot of distortion towards the edges when it is at the short end. I would have thought that might be a problem for portraits.

The Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is very highly regarded, and perfect for your needs.

Sigma 12-24mm in my bag - super lens and never had a problem.

I've also got the Sigma 8mm - brilliant toy.
