Where is cheapest place to buy a lens cap ?

Hi

Bit skint at the mo, so looking for cheapest place to buy a lens cap for my Nikon 70-300 lens. I currently have a filter fitted . but find the lens cap must be broken as it comes off too easily.

Thankyou

7.99 + P&P for Nikon cap on Jessops online, unless of course you have a store nearby.

Mmmmm, I have that lens & had no problems, although I've rarely used it to be honest.

Does it have to be Nikon though, for that price I think I would just buy an unbranded one from my local photography dealer, as long as it fits no problem it should do the job it was intended for?

On saying that if all your equipment is Nikon, I can understand also wanting to keep it in original condition and that would include Nikon caps too I suppose. Just seems a little pricy for what it is

Re: Where is cheapest place to buy a lens cap ?

Sigma pinch lenscaps are abysmal, they have very weak springs. All my Nikon ones are ace so I just replaced the dodgy Sigma ones with those

Re: Where is cheapest place to buy a lens cap ?

My Tamron lens has a pinch spring system that is very good, it allows you to remove and replace it by pinching in the middle of the cap rather than on the edges which is excellent for using it with the lens hood still in place, much better than the Canon 'pinch at the sides' system. When it's on it very tight as well, no chance of it falling off

Are the Nikon's pinch at the side like the Canon or from the middle like the Tamron?

Re: Where is cheapest place to buy a lens cap ?

The Nikon's supplied with all of my lenses have been centre pinch but I bought a couple of Nikon 77mm spares for my Sigma's and they were edge pinch
