Where's the cheapest for CompactFlash nowadays?

Hi all,
Where is the cheapest place to get hold of a 2GB Compact Flash card? I like the Kingston Elite Pro series, so wouldn't mind one of those (but am open to others). I just can't face sifting through all the Chinese rubbish on eBay, especially with all the fake Sansdisks floating around.

Any recommendations? (UK based if possible!)

Matt

Re: Where's the cheapest for CompactFlash nowadays?

I just got a Kingston 40x 1GB from Picstop for £18.90. Ordered from their website Thursday evening, arrived this morning. They list the 2GB Elite Pro at £40.30 inc VAT.

They're based in the Isle of Man (not sure if that's technically UK! )

See: Kingston 50X CompactFlash Elite Pro High Speed - 2GB ONLY £40.30 inc VAT @ PicStop UK

Ah good old Picstop! I got my first 512MB card from there a few years back. Thanks for reminding me of them, ordered a 2GB.

Re: Where's the cheapest for CompactFlash nowadays?

yes used them loads of times, i have a cash account with them, and my old firm used to order off them almost daily. Not the cheapest for somethings if your not a business considering everything is ex vat but still get somethings pretty cheap.

Re: Where's the cheapest for CompactFlash nowadays?

I assume a Memory card is faster write access than Microdrive (which I have a 4GB model) ?

Re: Where's the cheapest for CompactFlash nowadays?

Depends on the Memory card and the Microdrive but for sure the Microdrive will be more suseptible to shock/temperatures/damage and more battery intensive too. If you are looking at the more recent cards it is very likely that they are much quicker than your microdrive.

Hi... Don`t know if they are super cheap (as I`m still looking) but mx2.com are super mega cheapr for C123 batteries.. and The flash looks pretty cheap to me, though you can get it cheaper if you have the patience on ebay.
