Why are monopods so small?

I've been looking for a half decent monopod for quite a while now but everyone i tryout is too short for me. can anyone here recommend one for over 6ft'ers?

Re: Why are monopods so small?

I'm 6'3" I use a Manfrotto 681 with the 234 tilt head. With that and a quick release base at full extension the viewfinder is too high for me. It is very sturdy but chunky and heavy. But if you want really high the Giottos 3290 is the one for you.

Check out the Velbon Sherpa range - the CF-8 extends to 1.89 m.
