Is it worth?

The question I've got is:
Is it worth me changing my Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 for a Canon 300mm f/4L IS USM or maybe a 100-400mm IS ?

What do you think?

Many thanks

Re: Is it worth?

Well, these lenses are suitable for different things, so I guess only you can make that call.

You previously were asking what lens or lenses to sell to fund a new purchase. I'd sell the 55-250, keep the Sigma, and add the 100-400.

Re: Is it worth?

Yes, I think you are wright....As I Have the 24-105L I can get rid of the 55-250, keep the 70-200 and save a bit more and add the 100-400.....I think it would be the better choice....

I say thank you very much

The 100 - 400mm is a superb lens highly recommended

This depends entirely on what you are trying to achieve by swapping lenses. If it is a longer focal length you are after then you could also look at teleconverters which would make the f/2.8 lens slower but you would have a much more versatile lens option.

The 100-400 is supposedly a superb lens and as you have the 24-105 would fit in nicely giving you full coverage from 24-400mm in two lenses.

Re: Is it worth?

Agree with Steve. Sell the 55-200 and the Sigma, buy the 100-400 and a Sigma 10-20. All angles covered with three lenses

Re: Is it worth?

Went out for a walk today (without tripod) walking the dog near the river ,Took a 10-20 Sigma a 24-120 Nikkor VR, and a 70-300 Nikkor VR.
Only used the 24-120, and between 28 and 120, so for me ,a walkabout is a mid range lens.
But we are all different!!!!!!!!!!!
