Re: Wanted: Right angle viewfinder

Hi Colin, sorry I'm not selling... but if your stuck I'd be happy to pop mine in the mail for you to borrow for a few days if you'd like. It's just one of the cheaper ebay ones, I bought it to fit my Canon but if memory serves it has several mounts for different makes of camera... I'll look for a link so you can see which one I have and whether it'd be any use.

Re: Wanted: Right angle viewfinder

Thanks for the offer Sonsey, it is very generous of you (rep points added btw ).

I managed to pick one up of ebay last night so it should be here in a few days as the seller is UK based.

Re: Wanted: Right angle viewfinder

I have one I'd have sold you cheaply but I only just saw this, sorry.

I used mine just occasionally when I needed to get accurate focusing for macro shots but with the 40D having 10x magnification on live view, I shalln't need it much at all now.

If anyone else is after one, drop me a PM and I am sure we can come to some arrangement without breaking any banks

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Wanted: Right angle viewfinder

Mine's not a Canon one, it is one of the generic ones. It has magnification so you can switch between 1.25x and 2.5x which is helpful when doing macro and requiring fine focusing.

I can't see any point in paying out the ludicrous sum Canon want for theirs as the quality of the lenses used does not affect the photo in anyway. Actually, comparing the Canon with this one (a friend has the other) we both felt that this one has a slightly brighter view and it is very clear and sharp.

Very useful but I doubt i'll use it now I have the 40D with its magnifying Live View screen.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Wanted: Right angle viewfinder

I've got a Seagull anglegrinder. Well, I've two - the first loosened up too much and I lost the rubber eyecup, so I binned it. But I'd found it so invaluable that I got another (surely the most useful 'extra' you can get!) - and the uprated version is much better!

Must admit that unless the camera I use has a tilting LCD it'll get used as much even if I did get the 40D - I use it almost entirely when camera on ground or above head

Re: Wanted: Right angle viewfinder

Hi all,

Just to mention I have reconsidered my anglefinder and realise it would be silly to get rid of it just yet. Although I doubt I'll use it with my 40D I forgot that I am still keeping my 20D and it might well get used with that.

Apologies that I shalln't be selling it just now but if I change my mind I will post it properly on here.

Thanks,
Rob
