WANTED: Video tripod & Head
I am after a video tripod with smooth head. I can't afford a top of the range Manfrotto head (over £700 new!) but need something smooth. I will be using it with a Canon XM2 which is not too heavy but I don't want a Photography head (got enough of those!) as the levers are not long enough to provide small smooth panning and tracking motion shots. Also I intend to attach a remote Lanc controller so need a reasonable length arm.
If you have anything you think I might be interested in, please state the model and how much you are willing to sell it to me for. If you'd rather PM me that is fine but bear in mind that if you post on here, if it isn't quite what I am looking for, it might be what someone else wants. Thanks, Rob

Re: WANTED: Video tripod & Head
Velbon do a good tripod and head - fliud damped - for about £80. Mine is the D700, but now I think it is called the D7000 - Obviously much better value!
They do a lighter version that I think is the D6000, but I felt is was a bit on the flimsy side. Pros - solid tripod with a fluid damped head. cons - a bit weighty. I've put some pipe insulation around the head operating lever and I just hang it on my shoulder with the cam still attached. It balances well and I don't even have to hold it, although I do tend to keep a steadying hand on it. I think these tripods are excellent VFM.
