Re: Adobe Lightroom
I've got it but don't use it.......there are a few members on here that use it and have positive comments about it.
"Is it worth buying" I got it free and don't think I would have bought it to be honest.

Re: Adobe Lightroom
It's horses for courses. Some people swear by it some use other apps. The best thing is to try it and see whether it suits you. I find it superb and leaves me with little to do in CS2 except a few tweeks. It's also an excellent browser and image manager (if you don't mind it being database driven).
But....the interface takes a while to get used to so don't give up on it too soon. |

Re: Adobe Lightroom
I've given it a whirl and it'll produce good results - but as Stephen says, others do it well, too!
Personally use CS3 but I'd really like a nice simple converter that gave me the essentials, as I find I spend too much time with all the multitude of controls! My Sigma S/W does broadly all the same type of stuff (including the essential recovery and shadows/highlights) but uses about 10 sliders. Much faster to use!

Re: Adobe Lightroom
Is there anything else I can use to convert RAW other than this for my Olympus?

Re: Adobe Lightroom
Doesn't Olympus have converter S/W which comes with the camera?

Re: Adobe Lightroom
I got Lightroom free as a Rawshooter Premium user. I've tried it but I'm not terribiy keen. There are a couple of things that put me off - one is that I really don't want the DAM (Library) functions, and they just complicate everything. I much prefer an application that can browse straight off the folder/directory structure.
The second is that LR falls between two stools. In terms of RAW conversion, what it does it does reasonably well, although there were bugs in the sharpening and CA filters in earlier versions. But it doesn't do enough, and second stage processing is necessary in most cases. I really like to avoid that if possible. So for now I'll stick with Bibble.
