Anyone else having virus problems?
We are having major problems at work with what appears to be some new viruses that haven't made it to the anti-virus software yet. One machine has a fatal system error already - and that has come through our server anti-virus software.
![]() One is TROY.TINY.AT and the second is PAK.Generic001 Another machine's Task Manager has been disabled and if you try to click on any internet links it takes you to list of porn sites! |

Re: Anyone else having virus problems?
Possibly malware/spyware so technically not a virus (which will be spread if run) so AV companies don't update their definitions to exclude.
I've not come across those (but the 3rd, disabling various Controls and hijacking the hosts file is very common to malware - and is a real pain to remove!). And no, not seen any particular sudden increase |

Re: Anyone else having virus problems?
Our IT guy came out yesterday and he believes that the hard drive has crashed on the machine that was telling us it had a fatal error and that the spyware stuff was purely coincidental.
The Task Manager problm on the other machine has been sorted as Norton picked up whatever was causing the problem. |

Re: Anyone else having virus problems?
In Windows I use NoScript with Firefox to stop any websites installing something like that. Then you just have to be careful when downloading e-mail attachments and software from the internet. Some years ago we had the same problem on a machine at work, and it was quite difficult to clean.
