Canonpro 9000 Won't Print From Mac

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE, I CANNOT GET MY CANON PRO 9000 TO PRINT FROM MY MAC.
I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, BUT IT WILL NOT PRINT. IT GOES THROUGH ALL THE MOTIONS OF PRINTING, EVEN DISPLAYING WHAT I WANT TO PRINT IN THE PRINT QUEUE .

WHEN I PUSH RESUME PRINT, A BOX COMES UP WITH "CANNOT CONTINUE USER ERROR"
I CAN'T FIND ANY EXPLANATION FOR THIS ANYWHERE. I HAVE PUT THE PRINTER INSTALL DISC IN SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THIS HAS MADE NO DIFFERENCE.

IT IS DISPLAYING THE CORRECT PRINTER IN SYSTEM PREFERENCES "PRINTERS AND FAXES".

I AM NOW AT A LOSS, CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE

Sorry Woody - I don't know about Macs so can only make some general suggestions.

Does the printer work with other computers?

If so, go to the Canon website and download the latest drivers for Mac. I'd be tempted to uninstall the old ones before installing the new.

There is usually a printer test feature with the driver. That may help.

Is the Mac fussy about which USB port you plug it into?

THANKS SILKSTONE, THE PRINTER WORKED FINE WITH MY OLD PC.
I HAVE TRIED ALL THE USB PORTS ON THE MAC. WOULD IT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH
THE PRINTER BEING USED FOR A PC BEFORE AND WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE MAC, I DON'T KNOW, I AM AT A COMPLETE LOSS. IN A BOOK I HAVE "MAC OSX LEOPARD EDITION" IT SAYS, BASICALLY ONCE YOU HAVE PUT IN PRINTER INSTALL DISC AND THE MAC RECOGNIZES THE PRINTER, IT'S JUST A CASE OF PLUGGING IT IN.

I CANNOT FIND ANYTHING IN ANY BOOK OR MANUAL ABOUT THIS BOX THAT COMES UP
SAYING "USER ERROR" I HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING.

Try Googling 'printing with a mac' or 'canon 9000 and mac' or something similar. If there are issues, there will be something on the web about it.

Have you looked for an updated driver? It's possible that the one you have is for Tiger not Leopard.

DOWNLOADS, TYPED IN CANON PRO 9000, MAC OSX, ENGLISH VERSION, IT CAME UP
NO RESULTS FOUND. NOW I AM REALLY CONFUSED.

THANKS VERY MUCH SILKSTONE, THAT IS A DIFFERENT CANON SITE TO THE ONE THAT I GOT UP, IT WOULD NOT SHOW ANY RESULTS ON THE ONE I FOUND. I WILL NOW DOWNLOAD THIS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS, THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP

You often have to try different searches before you can get to what you want. When you search you have to get the words and sometimes th eorder right before you hit. On some sites you can follow kinks from the home (or other) pages.

You might have been better to type 'canon 9000 drivers' rather than being too specific.

I Have Downloaded The Print Drive,but It Still Won't Print.
In The Consol Log It Says Filter Error, Also Cannot Load Images,
Also Says No Pages Found,which I Can't Understand As Everything
That I Have Wanted To Print Is Displayed In The Print Queue.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP SILKSTONE, LIKE YOU I HAVE RUN OUT OF IDEAS. I THINK IT IS NOW A PHONE CALL TO APPLE. AS THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WITH THEM AND NOT THE PRINTER OR CANON.

I've had a look around and found this:

Select the Canon S9000 printer under the 'Format For' section

Shift-Command-P will show you Page Setup.

Make sure you select the Canon S9000 printer in the "Format For" section.

Then use the paper size of the paper you are using.

Means nothing to me, but HTH....
