Firefox 2 to be released today

I have it on very good authority that the full none beta version of Firefox 2 is going public today. If you don’t want to wait for the official announcement but do want to be one of the first to grab it through official channels then the links below will be ideal for you.

OS X

Linux

Windows GB version!

Windows US version for our American members!

Release notes: (I assume this has not been updated since RC3)

Re: Firefox 2 to be released today

I have tried Firefox 2 but after installing I found there is no means of accessing Outlook Express. I presumed that this was so that we would have to use Thunderbird. Well I installed Thunderbird but for a multiple-email household it does not have the simplicity that OEx has so decided to go back to Firefix 1.5. I also found that uninstalling Thunderbird had it's problems.

If anyone can add anything informative about tbis I would be grateful.

Re: Firefox 2 to be released today

I did try the beta a couple of months ago. Problem was that few of the plugins worked with it and it was difficult to unentangle the result! I'll wait 'til it all the plugins work - especially the GMail notifier

Install the Nightly Tester Tools - you can make all extensions compatible .

You know that feeling: everything screaming at you that you shouldn't and you know it'll end in tears. But you go ahead anyway!

Sure enough, FF 2.0 + Nightly Tester Tools bends extensions 'til they break! Rendering FF unusable.

Was considering taking out a Contract out on Steve but luckily I removed one of the extensions which appears to have fixed the problem

Hey I just post the news and the tools for you to play with, if you play nicely everything works, if not well you only have yourself to blame

Besides what else have you to do do on a Wednesday morning?
