A market first as Traxdata launches the innovative Yego – a USB drive and two-port USB hub in one

Capelle aan den IJssel, May 31, 2007 – Traxdata, a leading flash and optical storage media vendor, has today announced the launch of its groundbreaking Yego, a new 2GB USB flash drive that incorporates a two-port USB hub enabling vastly increased storage capacity and adds a further two USB connections.

This high-quality flash memory storage device allows users to access and transfer digital files anytime, anywhere. The innovative two-port USB hub feature enables users to extend storage capacity through simply connecting additional USB devices or alternatively allows users to connect to a multitude of digital devices through the one USB port.

The funky ‘Y’ shaped design of the 2GB Yego aims to address the needs of the ever-increasing mobile community that use digital cameras, MP3 players, laptops, mobile phones and PDAs, and need to transfer or transport photos, music, movies, software and office documents regularly. It also has an optional partition and security function available for those that require it.

Jacob van der Hoeven, manager of commercial strategy at Traxdata, said: “We are very excited to be launching this brand new product as there is nothing else like this available on the market. Due to the penetration and general use of digital files in everyday life such as with photography, videos, music, multimedia and business applications, there is a big demand for innovative high capacity USB drives. The Traxdata EZ Drive Yego enables users to continually meet their storage needs through plugging-in additional USB storage devices, however large those requirements may be. It also solves the problem of a lack of USB ports on a PC, Mac, or any other gadget which is often limited to a maximum of three or four ports.”

The Yego has also been designed with the environment in mind and therefore has a power saving mode that means users can reduce power consumption as well as being both WEEE and RoHS compliant.

The Yego USB hub drive conforms to USB 2.0 specifications alongside having backward compatibility with the 1.1 specification and supports a wide range of operating systems including Microsoft Windows 98SE/200/ME/XP and Vista as well as Mac OS 8.6/9.x/10.x.
