'Highly Critical' bugs in Sun's "Open Office" software

Secunia has announced 'Highly Critical' bugs in Sun's "Open Office" software; vulnerabilities could allow a malicious crafted Word Perfect or StarCalc document to open a security hole in a computer which could then be used to install malicious code and compromise the machine. the problem affects OpenOffice 1.0.x, OpenOffice 1.1.x, OpenOffice.org 2.x.

If you use Star Office or Open Office, avoid opening files from untrusted sources until your system is updated.

Distributors of Open Office for Linux are already issuing patches which will be distributed as part of regular system upgrades
