HP Laserjet 2605 for printing photos?

For some time I have been planning on upgrading from an inkjet printer to a laser. I already have an HP (Deskjet 1220c) which I have found excellent for my purposes, and have been planning on getting the HP Laserjet 2605. I recently bought a DSLR and I wondered if anyone had any opinions on my choice regarding printing photos.
TIA
Pauline

I use an HP 4560 at work, but our computers do not have proper editing software. I suspect for photo use an inkjet will be better as it will give you better control.

I print a lot of leaflets and posters which is why I want a Laser (it takes forever on the inkjet). The leaflets and posters have a lot of photos included so I wondered if the quality of those would be affected much. You've given me a good idea though - there is a 4700 at work so I'll have a test run on that (when everyone's gone home ) thanks.

I cannot comment on this particular printer but generally Laser printers are good for text and graphics but not to good for photographs. Try comparing a print from a Laser with a good inkjet.

Aahhh - you did not say leaflets in your first post, so I assumed you were talking about photographs (proper ones!).

For leaflets, I think that a laser will be just fine, assuming you will do enough not to warrant a local printer producing them for you rather than buying. Do you know the price of the toner for lasers? Our 4560 needs four colours at over £100 each!

Before you buy, you could always produce a sample leaflet and get the manufaturers/agents to do some sample prints for you.
