Re: Another Critical security Flaw in Internet explorer

I've now downloaded Firefox and I am impressed with how smoothly it runs. At work I had no problems but got a bot of a glitch at home. It loaded fine but it won't transfer all my bookmarks or, at least, it's downloaded the ones that show up on IE in the "managing bookmarks" bit, but that doesn't appear to show all the bookmarks that I have.

Does that make any sense and if so, any suggestions please!?

Seperated from the old thread and moved in here for you

I am not quite sure if you are saying that some of your bookmarks have transferred or none of them have?

Re: Just installed Firefox..I'm impressed but have a small problem

Thanks Steve...it was in danger of getting a bit lost up there!

Some of the bookmarks have transferred but not all of them. So when I went in to IE's bookmark manager, not all the bookmarks that I can access in my IE browser are there. All of those listed in the bookmark manager have transferred but not the others. I suspect it's an IE problem somewhere as it appears to be my most recently added bookmarks that haven't transferred - I probably need to check a box somewhere! As an analogy, it's a bit like saving phone numbers on a mobile to either the phone or the Sim and when you take the sim card out, it only takes those numbers and not the ones stored on the phone...and wondering why!

Ok I think I am with you now...

Did you have lots of different folders in your IE bookmarks and if so is it just one or many that have not been imported correctly.?

Either way, In firefox go to Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks.
In the new page that opens go File>import and follow the instructions.

Hopefully it will work correctly this time.

Re: Just installed Firefox..I'm impressed but have a small problem

I tried that already Steve and therein lies the problem, IE is not listing all the bookmarks and therefore Firefox can't transfer them. I need to get IE to list them all in the manager first - and that's what I can't seem to do!

Re: Just installed Firefox..I'm impressed but have a small problem

Hmm, don't think I've heard of IE not listing all the Favorites. That is, if they're saved with the other Favorites. Not saved them somewhere else have you?

BTW, Firefox is not too clever on updating it's Bookmarks if you've already imported IE's Favorites.
