Network Problem
Scratching my head with this one any help appreciated. On Sunday night after reinstalling all my software on my laptop (new hard drive) I accessed the home network and all was well. Later in the evening all went pear shaped. Suddenly the second drive in the home PC disappeared to everyone including the home PC itself. All my photos are on that
but backed up to external drive. Rebooted in safe mode (home PC) and drive and partition recognised. Rebooted and home PC fine. Trouble is none of us can access Home network. Run setup etc on all but all blank.![]() Thanks for reading long winded thread. Roger ![]() |

Re: Network Problem
Not yet I am afraid. Biggest pain is not being able to access printer from any computer except the home one.

Re: Network Problem
Every thing worked OK to start with then the home computer started playing up. Then lost the network. Internet fine but none of the Laptops or PC in the house will talk to each other. Al software up to date and windows "setup network" run several times. Turned off firewall but still problem so turned that back on again.

Re: Network Problem
Is it a router fault?
That wouldn't explain why the PC couldn't see one of its own drives, but that sounds like a different problem from the various machines being unable to see each other. BTW isn't 'setup network' used if you're using one machine as a server? If you have a router, all you have to do is plug the PC into it and it should connect. |
