Re: Nikon Capture

You can download it from Nikon UK or USA.
If you have previously installed it once, it won't work again.

Re: Nikon Capture

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, I HAVE NOW INSTALLED IT. NOT VERY HAPPY WITH IT SO FAR,
AS IT SEEMS FAR MORE COMPLICATED THAN ELEMENTS FIVE. THIS IS WHY I WANTED
TO TRY IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. I SUPPOSE IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T GET ANY
INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE TRIAL VERSION.

I WILL SEE HOW I GET ON WITH IT, BUT THINK I PREFER ELEMENTS FIVE.
DOES ANYONE ELSE USE NIKON CAPTURE ? HOW DO YOU FIND IT, ANSWERS ON A
POSTCARD PLEASE

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP. ANY TIPS ANYONE CAN GIVE ME ON HOW TO USE IT
PLEASE.

Re: Nikon Capture

I love capture NX, it is the only way to get the best out of NEF files.
It's not good for batch processing or creative stuff though, that's best left to a third party image editor.

Re: Nikon Capture

Hi Soupdragon, Well At The Moment I Am Anything But Happy With Nikon
Capture. Every Time I Go Into The Browser Or Try To Print Anything, It
Either Freezes, Then Error Report Comes Up, Or I Get Half Way Through
Something And It Will Just Disappear And Takes Ages To Get It Back.

Any Ideas On This, Have You Had Any Problems With It ?

Any Advice Please. Thank You.

Re: Nikon Capture

If you are using Elements 5, make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of Adobe RAW (V 4.1). This version is the same as used in PS CS3 and Lightroom but you can only access the basic features from Elements. Nevertheless, you still benefit from a good converter.

Hmmm! I have to say, it is a bit slow.
I only use it for sharpening, exposure and colour corrections.
Everything else like cropping, cloning and spot healing I do in CS2.

I don't use cs2 for the initial raw to tiff conversions as sometimes it introduces noise patterns when applying sharpness.

Just as a matter of interest, did you download it from a reputable source?

Re: Nikon Capture

Thank You Dave Canon And Soupdragon.
I Have Now Downloaded Adobe Raw 4.1. Regarding Nikon Capture, I Did Not
Think This Was For Me.
I Have Now Uninstalled Nikon Capture. You Learn By Experience So I Am Glad
I Tried It Before I Bought It.

I Enjoy Using Elements 5 , I Think It Has Everything I Need. I Am Learning All
The Time From It.

Thanks Again For Your Help
