Re: opening a RAW file in PS CS3

Right click on your thumbnail and in the menu that opens select 'open with CS3' (might be in a sub-menu) or open CS3 then go to file>open and navigate to your picture file.

Just a normal File>Open>click on image>Open, it will automatically open Camera RAW for you.

That's assuming the camera is supported by CS3 + the old version of ACR.

Not sure what version of ACR I've got now, but not had a problem with my D300 from the start.

Re: opening a RAW file in PS CS3

If you have put the latest ACR version 5 whatever into CS 3 it won't work, it's not compatible. If not perhaps your camera raw plugin has corrupted, rename the old file and get a new version.

Go here --> AC 4.3.1Windows version and download it. You will see a list of cameras that it is compatible with, yours included. Unzip it and put the Camera Raw.8BI into the Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\File Formats folder. It should now work ok.

If your using a Mac then get it here --> Mac version

Their both free downloads. I'm glad you asked this question because I didn't realise version 5 was incompatible with CS3

Let us know if this solves your problem.
