Pay For Lightroom 1.1 Upgrade?
Finally got around to installing the upgrade I thought I'd downloaded ... but couldn't find it
 So went to d/l it again, but the Adobe site is not clear on whether you have to pay for it or not. Because installing the 1.1 updated version will remove the original version 1.0, I thought I'd ask (before doing so) if anyone here knows if you have to pay for the update? The Adobe site says something about new updates being available for free d/l for a "limited time" but they don't say how long you have.Can anyone tell me whether I have to pay for the 1.1 upgrade? TIA.

Heheh - Adobe can be a bunch of money grubbing something..somethings... I can see where you might be confused.. But Lightroom 1.1 is a free upgrade..

I did not pay for mine, but it occurs to me that if the Adobe download site thinks you have already downloded it once, it may charge you for another go.
Have you done a search on your computer for Lightroom1.1? |

Charlotte, I keep a folder called Downloads and it has a few subfolders to keep things tidy. I always save downloads (all software and uogrades) then install from my saved file. This has a number of avantages. If you have problems wih software and have to re-install, you can easily find the upgrades etc and it does not matter if support has now ceased. It also saves time searching the inernet.

Thanks all, got version 1.1 installed now
 It seems I didn't d/l it the first time, after all (just thought about doing it I guess). All my downloads go in my 'downloads' folder, which is very organised, I even include a text doc listing all the file names + what (prog's) they are, in case I don't install them straight away + then forget what they are. Then when I've installed a downloaded prog/update I move the install file into a different folder called 'archives' so I know it's been installed but can be retrieved later if need be; that folder also contains a text doc listing the file names + what each one is. |
