Photoshop CS 3

Hey

I just got cs3 this week, and love all the new things I can do with it.

My problem is bridge. It is so much better, but it seems that it is so much slower. Drives me crazy.

Also it seems a bit buggy. Freezes every so often. Doesn't open sometimes unless I reboot.

I am running winxp with 2 G RAM.

Anyone run into the same problems? Any fixes?

Thanks

Re: Photoshop CS 3

Think there'll soon be a new swear word: Bridge!

Is a resource hog, runs like the proverbial dog.......... and doesn't even do that much! Give it the old heave-ho, I say! 2GB min I'd say....... AND fast processor(s)....... AND fast disk - then it's fine!

Re: Photoshop CS 3

Presumably Adobe will post some upgrades for bridge if the problems seem like frequent ones.

More likely, they will ship CS 4 in 12 months.

Tell me about it! System I'm currently using is 512MB and AOL (which luckily I don't need, just the BB connection, as AOL is as bad as Bridge for resources!)..

Re: Photoshop CS 3

Mark said it....ditch Bridge. I run a fairly top spec machine with 2Mgb memory and Bridge crawls. My answer is I use Lightroom and only open a conversion in CS3 if it requires further treatment.

Re: Photoshop CS 3

Just curious if the sluggish ones are running AMD processors. My old desktop was an AMD 64X2 4600+ with 2GB of ram and it really struggled with Bridge. My laptop was noticeably quicker and that is a very modest Intel single core 2.4 and 1GB. My new desktop is much quicker again but that is based on Intel.

Re: Photoshop CS 3

My new rig is for the first time an AMD, but it is a duo-core job with 2g of RAM. I've not really used Bridge too much as I treated myself to Lightroom and installed it straight away.

However, as I am writing this I have just used Bridge to open around 350 RAW images AND the same number of jpgs (shooting RAW + jpeg on this occasion) in about seven seconds.
