Portrait professional

sooo do any of you have the above software, and if so how do you rate it and how often do you use it in comparison to your favoured general processing software?

Do you rate it as being worth having in your arsenal of various dedicated software?

Re: Portrait professional

I'm a Software Junkie so I bought it since it's at half price, but it is a program aimed at people who do Face Portraits.
It is a GREAT program I would rate it a 10, like I said if you do Portraits it is something you HAVE TO OWN.
I'm not that good at it since I've only had it 1 month but heres a sample I did so you can see how fast and easy it is to use, it took me about 9 or 10 min. to do the sample.
It does things you can do with Photoshop BUT it would take several hours to do what you can do in about 10 min. with Portrait Pro.
As you can see it Sculpts everything in the face, Head size, Jaw size, lips, lip color, teeth whiten, eyes, eye color, softness of skin (I think I over did it a little in the sample but I had already uploaded), eyebrows, nose, contrast, lighting, It's perfect for portraits.

Hope the info helps Fi

Re: Portrait professional

thanx Sotelo. i downloaded the trial today and had a play, it was great fun! lol
mind you i dont think it was meant to turn people into the incredible hulk........ anyway i was mightily impressed with it, and am considering it, not sure if the max version is worth the extra money tho.
I just thought it may be handy for wedding portraits etc, as i have now got two booked for later this year.

Re: Portrait professional

Looks good, just bought it, thanks all for the tip

Fi the max option is worth the extra money (gulp, it is quite a bit more) to me 'cos I do most of my editing on 16bit tiffs. It says it reads raw files as well. If you don't have this function then you can only work on 8bit jpegs/tiff, which is asking for deterioration in quality at the end of the exercise. So my advice is go for the max one

Re: Portrait professional

I have it and call it my "10 year" filter, I recently took my daughters portrait and applied this software.

She was over the moon as it took 10 years off her (I wonder if it will work for the wife)

Re: Portrait professional

If you bought PPMax at the discounted half price that discount would not apply anyway

Without the code, the price shows as £49.95 (for the MAX version), with the code it shows as £44.95, ergo - it does work even at the "discounted" price.

Interestingly, the advert in the magazine states the prices as "£29.95 for the standard version and £49.95 for the 16 Bit RAW capable MAX version", with no mention that these are "half price", so the half price claim on the website should be taken with a pinch of salt, it is probably always that price, and there is evidence for this on their "reviews" page - follow some of the links and read the reviews, you will find that it was priced at £39.95 on launch, and then £29.95 in almost all the reviews - it has been at this "discounted" price for at least 1 year!

Re: Portrait professional

I had a quick look into this Pete, and I think you might be right that it's a bit of hype ... I saw it on other download sites with the same figures (original price of £59.95 for the Standard version) but with a $ in front of it instead of a £, which might make it "half price" (£30 "down" from $60?!) to anyone willing to believe it

Oh well, I'm very pleased with the product anyway, so I'm not too fussed about their rather naughty claim of "half price".
