Sorry, I have searched for the original posting but I can't find it. Someone somewhere on here posted recently about the special offer at PC World who are selling the Seagate 320Gb external hard drive for just £79.99 and I had no idea.
I went today and bought one and it is an absolute pearler, I love it. It is extremely quiet, sits on my desk out of the way and is plug n play so just switch it on and there it is, easy. It is 7200 spin speed and uses USB 2 to plug into the PC. It is extremely fast, plenty fast enough for my needs. I have now copied across my Photographs folder... all 48 Gbs of it! So that is all backed up but the other benefit is now I can access all my photos whether I am on the PC or on the laptop as I can just plug the new drive into either of them. So thanks for letting us know, I am well pleased :o) Cheers, Rob

Thanks Fiona, I am delighted with it. I thought they might be sold out but they had them stacked high in the Poole branch so methinks lots of people will be grabbing them as Christmas pressies.
Wonder whether I should buy another and keep it in its box for when i eventually need it <g> Nah, not much point: by the time I come to use it, you'll be able to buy a 10 Terabyte HDD for the same price! Cheers, Rob |
