Uploading photos to Pixalo

I've just uploaded two photographs and immediately deleted them because although they are clear and pin sharp in PSP, when I upload them they become soft, almost blurred and pixalated. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Uploading photos to Pixalo

Assuming right size (kb and px), is it the full size you're looking at or a smaller version?

Repost one?

Re: Uploading photos to Pixalo

If your picture size is above 800pix on either side then in the gallery a second 800pix version is created so that it is visible for the people with smaller screen resolutions. If you then click on the picture displayed it will open your full size shot in its own window. The reduced size shot is always less sharp than the full size.

It may also be worth noting that if you are then going to copy the UBB code to display the shot on the forums, to get the full size shot you have to alter it slightly.

the code for a resized shot will always have a medium/ section in the URL

Code:
http://www.pixalo.com/gallery/data/2/medium/IMG_8079-01.jpg
so you need to remove that so that it becomes..

Code:
http://www.pixalo.com/gallery/data/2/IMG_8079-01.jpg
It will then display the full size shot on the forums in all its glory.

Re: Uploading photos to Pixalo

Thanks Steve I'll try that.

Mark, I hadn't thought to click on the larger version to check that!
