I wouldnt worry much about Vista it wont be around long
Windows 7 is out there (Do a Search on Google and Youtube) its only beta but over installs on vista and it looks might Purdywith loads of pretty bits added into the system
I wish they would stop trying to change the systems= more money for Microdollar more out of our pockets GrrrrrrIve only just updated to a quad core 4 gig ram system as my poor 5 year old pc was struggling with xp Sp3 update athlon 24 and 3 gig of ram.........remember the days when xp would fly on a 1.6 ghrt processor and a whole 2 sticks of 256mb ram with a 20 gig hardrive.......

While not susceptible to Windows viruses, it's still very exploitable. No operating system or hardware set is secure unless you make it that way for yourself. It's impossible for the manufacturors to secure them either. They have a limited number of employees to work on anything, while the underground has essentially unlimited numbers of people to attack them. For this same reason, eventually open source software will become more prevalent in time.
