(China) Macro Focusing Rail

I am not much of a Macro shooter but at £30 delivered even I am willing to shell out for This focusing rail. Again I'll post what I think when it arrives.

Will be very interested in seeing how you get on with this - something I've thought about getting for making small adjustments.

Yes I have one of those. They are quite good though not as high quality in build as this one which is much smoother and more stable. I've used this as well and may get one for myself in the future, but as I currently get by with my current one have not yet persuaded myself to buy a replacement.

£18.00 P&P! I'd be tempted if it weren't for that! But will keep my eyes peeled for one from somewhere else!

Have nearly bid/bought other makes off eBay, but when bidding got over the £40 mark I reckoned I didn't need one that much!

Or.... you could get one of these ....

Then clamp in a bracket or square-section rod with a 1/4" UNC bolt on the end to fit into the camera. The weight of these things makes them very stable for table-top use, but you can't put them on a tripod.

Chrisa's link is for £18p&p, yours is £10.50

Although I agree, probably costs more to post to Wales anyway

LOL! Was commenting on Chris's Velbon! My fault, I should've quoted him to show which I was dissing!

And it probably WILL be more expensive to post to Wales..................... when they've finished closing down all the Post Offices!

Let's face it, first part of journey by air, second part of journey by train, 3rd part of journey by sheep... no wonder it costs so much!

<good job I'm off on holiday so can escape while the firey Welsh dragon calms down >
