Well, I've had a fiddle about - need to sort the balance between camera and flash metering - I've found +2/3 to flash and -1/3 to camera works OK. Have to say it looks like it works pretty well:
Flash bounced, no diffuser  Flash bounced with diffuser  Flash bounced with a sheet of kitchen roll held over it for comparison  All straight out the camera without editing. So far so good, will try it outside next and report back. |

That is looking pretty good so far. i used to use a hankerchief over the flash to take the edge off it.

Yes - you fire it directly at the subject it's just going to leave a hard shadow - the end of it is open so most of the light is still going forwards. Putting on the dome mitigates against that a little but you still need to bounce.

I should also add - getting the damn thing onto the flash head is a bit of a square peg round hole affair

Well after numerous emails chasing, mine has been dispatched on the 14th .... only 15 days after payment, unlike the immediate dispatch it stated in Ad. Hope the quality of the goods makes up for the poor customer service at HK supplies

Sorry to here of your probs dave mine came in four days still to try it out properly got a shoot inside on saterday so will be using it then . I didn't have a problem fiting it but it seems a bit big on the end will have to look at some tutorials to get the best out of it.
+ I got the nifty 50 but dont tell the wife |
