I had a look at the Gary Fong diffusers and the idea seems good, although the price is a bit silly for what looks like some plastic packaging! The downside is the size - would I carry it around or leave it at home with the tripod?

The Stofen diffusers probably aren't as good but they take up far less space in the bag.

The price of these clones sounds more reasonable, so worth a try.

Good idea. And effect seems good enough to me. I found it heard to get good photo's with my flash without any shadow from behind. So lets try this one instead. I've just ordered one aswell.

Have you tried bounce flash? You can use a ceiling, a wall or both - just be aware that if you use a wall with colour on it, you can get a cast.

Also, try to make sure your subjects are not very close to a wall - that will create a shadow.

No Dabhand, but this party i'm talking about was a small space and it was crowded. So hard anyway to get good photo's. But i will certainly try that bouncing from the ceiling next time i get the chance.

That's something I've always disagreed with. The Seller will wait to see what you post beofre leaving an equivalent feedback rating.
