i got lights from backdrop source about three months ago, i waited forever for them, i finally got them... well now when i turn them on they go off every second... they just go off rapidly... i even blew a fuse in one of them.... any idea of what's going on with them?

Are you using the cheap chinese triggers i had the same problem with one on my 580EX
if so you need a longer lead to move the trigger farther away from the flash probably to the bottom of the stand

i called back drop source and i've had problems with them before... just time on shipment and i couldnt understand what any of them were saying... but! the guy told me the batteries were going dead so a changed out the batteries (after blowing a fuse) and they started working again... however i did ask for a manual and they never sent me one, i'm going to have to call (again!) grrr.... but yeah i saw all the pages about the bad reviews after i bought them, someone i worked with i guess had good serivce cause he told me i should go there...

Were the batteries you changed in the lighting units or the triggers?

the trigger that hangs in the back of the light... it sucks that it's the only way i can tell if the battries are going dead...

You could buy a cheap battery tester. 7 day shop do one for about £1.50 / $1 - and I think there might be free post and packing in December. Might also depend on your spend though.

Are these triggers part of the lighting kit, or did you have to buy them separately?

it's part of the lighting kit that i bought- from backdropsource so ya know, i didnt get a manual or anything... i had to go based on stuff i learned in school three years ago
