Hi I need some urgent advice on this kit.

Elinchrom
2400 RX flash unit and three flash heads
version 230 v - 10258
1 SEE flash head
1 SE flash head
1 S2000 flash head (used)
1 mulitiblitz radio slave RS 868 wireless 8 channel flash trigger
plus manuals
$4,500 ono

Is this enough/more than enough to get me started with a home studio? what else do I need (cords... brollys... etc) I have the canon 400d

I can't really comment on the Elinchrom as I have never used it.

However, if I read this correctly you are about to spend around 5x the value of your camera on lighting gear? I'm not sure I would agree with the wisdom of that. I set my home studio up with a 'budget' system that came with most of what you list above and it cost me less than £500. Sure I imagine the Elinchrom stuff is better but usually that tends to be about speed and repeatability as I understand it.

Would you not be better off buying a cheaper lighting kit and upgrading the camera body? I have owned a 400D and while it's a good camera the results are a shadow of what you get from a 40D and with your lighting budget you could easily get a second-hand 1D or 5D if you wanted one which would be even better still and still have money left over for some budget lighting.

Just my point of view of course.
