Light kit advice
My friend and I are about to acquire enough space for a studio. I've always dealt with natural light personally and my friend knows about flash we are just trying to find a good affordable light kit to get us started. Any recommendations on new and used equipment would be great

Not sure what kit is available where you live, but in the UK, Interfit do a starter kit for about 200GBP. Elinchrom, Lastolite, Bowens and Calumet all make good starter kits, and I'm sure that there are others too. I'd steer clear of cheap unbranded, or unknown brands that you might have trouble getting spare parts/flash tubes/accessories for.
As with other kit, you can find studio lighting secondhand when people upgrade, or try the hire places as they will often sell their kit after it has been on hire for a while. |
