Which lighting kit to buy
Hi to everyone,
I’m looking to invest in some studio lighting equipment mainly for doing product shots of baby clothes that my wife makes and sells. I don’t have much space in which to use the lighting gear in fact its probably going to be the corner of a room. I have had some portaflash units that came to me secondhand couple of lights, stands, backdrop, the lights are not adjustable and the biggest problem I have is that I’m working at f22/32 most of the time due to the restriction of space. I have been looking at some of the cheap kits on ebay from link_delight the 180Ws took my fancy at first then the 250 Ws then I started looking at the interfit EX150 kits the 3 head version as you get a couple of extras and accessories seem to be available for these lights which I would then be able to progress as I improve. The ED 200 lights also took my fancy with the digital control. I'm only looking to a budget system. Has anyone any experience of the above is color temp consistent are they sturdy enough. So much to think about and to learn. Update: Digital Photo mag dropped through the letter box this morning and there's an advert for Lencarta Starter kit at £345 and the stands are going to be upgraded to air damped ones so I've ordered this kit and it should be here on Wednesday. many thanks bigfoot ![]()

Re: Which lighting kit to buy
Sorry Bigfoot missed this one.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for. I would keep away from cheap EBAY lights personally. Seems you have ordered a decent kit there. You should be getting cracking shots from this setup, plus it's powerful enough to use for Portraits etc Let us know how you get on |
