Speedlight softbox by ALZO

I use my speedlights (3 x 580exII) for many portrait sessions both at my small home studio and on location.

I found that the best softbox available was the lastolite ezybox - however at the price they seemed quite expensive £90+ each.

So I found ALZO DIGITAL - an American company who seem to sell the exact same softbox as the ezybox but at $59.22.

They don't advertise shipping to the UK - but an email got a swift response and a paypal invoice

In for a penny etc.......... ordered one and the postage was $28 - so for $87.22 it was on its way.

Well - a bit nervous when it arrived - but WOW - excellent construction - removable screen and silver reflective interior. Just like big boy softboxes.

If they don't come out of the same factory as the ezybox - it must be next door

The link is here

The website isn't the easiest to follow and they do a stand adaptor for an extra $30 which is also good quality but probably available cheaper in the UK

In practice they perform well and probably would struggle for larger group portraits - but for 75% of the time are a great quick solution.

Now just to find the equivalent strip box............

Thanks for that Simon, I might look into one of those when I get my speedlight.

Re: Speedlight softbox by ALZO

Great 'heads-up', seems so difficult to get some stuff in the UK (eg, Apollo Softbox - umbrella type from Westcott etc, etc).

Thanks again !
