Re: 8,927,347
I assume FF3 is only for US users at present. I am using FF 2.0.0.14 and when i check for updates it says there aren't any so the UK version will probably head on out at some point in the next few months.
Gotta say I love FF, it is so much better than Explorer and I love the many add-ons available. Cheers, Rob |

Re: 8,927,347
FF3 is available now Rob. I don't think the update function on FF2 will do anything other than update FF2.
Beware that if you do install it, it will overwrite FF2, not install alongside, so if you have any add-ons, they might not work. For instance, in Norton Internet Security, there is a feature called Identity Safe (I'll leave you to work out what it does). Woked fine in FF2, but FF3? - not a chance. Norton are apparently brining out a fix today. FF3 seems faster than FF2, but see also the bottom couple of sentances here.

Re: 8,927,347
Yeah I lost a few of my add-ons when I downloaded FF3, although it did do a search for compatible replacements and found the bulk of them.
Biggest annoyance (and I guess this is part of them maximising the download number) is that to install FF3 onto the 4 machines in the house I have to download it 4 times . In the past I could download an installer once and then install from the network drive. Now it just gives you a launcher package that downloads from the Internet and installs direct.Seems to work okay so far though.

Re: 8,927,347
I think me and Firefox may be about to fall out...
Just spotted that my Opanda Exif plug-in was not working. Went to re-install it and got a rude message from Firefox telling me this plug-in is not secure and I can't install it. |

Re: 8,927,347
D/L'd OK to my Desktop tho' it was RC2 that I got a week ago. As you say, think they wanted to max the D/Ls - hopefully they'll return to sending the whole file but in the meantime I'll use the one I've got
