Advice re easy to maintain Website for Charity

A friends partner is looking for a cost effective method of maintaining the following charity website :- TheGoodGardeners . The guy has no web design knowledge & the charity has very little money.

Now we all know for photography sites we can use the likes of clikpic for £35 a year, so does anyone know of an equivalent content management offering for the site above ??

By the way, if you are in to organic stuff you'll find the site of interest ..... "no dig vegetable patches" really do work !!!

Re: Advice re easy to maintain Website for Charity

Well they could get a totally free Wordpress Blog (from wordpress directly including hosting) and use that or alternatively buy some cheap hosting and add a free content management system along the lines of Mambo, Joomla or Drupal. Unfortunately both ways will require a basic amount of web knowledge.

What system are they currently using and who designed it/is in charge of updating and maintaining it etc?

Re: Advice re easy to maintain Website for Charity

Be aware any CMS you choose to install will need to be kept bang up to date. The security flaws common in these systems can be very destructive.

So if you're getting it for ease of entering content then be aware that you'll still need a friendly geek to keep it up to date.

No idea Steve as they used a web company, where prices have become prohibitive moving forward. I'll have a scan of the wordpress option you mentioned
